The Agony Of Choice: Preparing For The Largest Outdoor Reading Event In Malaysia

June 24th, 2010 § 3 Comments

Which book should I bring on Saturday? Below are just some of the books in my “to read” pile. Note, I said some. I’m a book hoarder. Clearly, I have a problem and clearly I don’t care.

Should I go all intellectual and bring a history book?

Or should I go nuts and bring a history and a fiction title as well. It’s World Cup season so that book on the left, The Ball Is Round, on the history of football is topical and I still haven’t opened The Time Traveller’s Wife. Will reading Time Traveller’s at a public event force me to turn in my man-card?

Can’t go wrong with good old adventure stories. Tarzan! When men were men and women were pregnant all the time. Yeah! *manly grunts* Man hunt meat. Woman make fire. Cook meat. *manly grunts*

Too pleasant an occasion for a World War II history lesson, I think.

Hey, those two C.J. Sansom books and that Flushed book (a history on plumbing. Yes, really) have already been read. What are they doing in the ‘to read’ pile?

So which book(s) should I bring? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Of course I could just bring a couple of Spider-Man and Batman books. They are perfect for all occasions.
